Developer Vostok Games is teaming up with Focus Home interactive to create the next Chernobyl based Battle Royale game
Fear of the Wolves is Battle Royale game that is coming out in 2018, a last-man-standing shooter from the studio called Vostok Games, which is comprised from ex-members of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. developer GSC Game World. Focus Home Interactive announced that the title will be coming out both for PC and consoles and that the release for the PC version is going to be released as an early access first.
Now, just imagine this setting: PUBG type of game set in the post-apocalyptic, irradiated area of Chernobyl. Add to that the fact that the people who are developing this have been working on S.T.A.L.K.E.R. and one can rest assured that the interest of the audience and the press would be equally stirred.
The Battle Royale rules are well known to everyone; 100 players are being air dropped into the world where they have to quickly find weapons and gear and fight everybody else off in order to survive. All the time an energy field is narrowing the area where players can survive, so everyone is forced to run to the middle of the circle while fighting other players that are doing the same. The last man standing is the winner – in Fear of Wolves probably of a radioactive chicken dinner!
New features for this game are harmful radioactive areas of the map, along with strange anomalies, mutated creatures (probably wild animals, possibly even humans who were left behind) as well as a dynamical day and night change. The weather will also change during the matches, changing the way game plays. This should ensure that, unlike in other Battle Royale games, the survival of the players will also be greatly challenged by other factors, such as the environment and NPC entities. fear of the Wolves will be adding the PvE part to the Battle Royale recipe, and it sounds appealing.
We’re looking very much to see how this post-apocalyptic Battle Royale game is going to turn out and are hoping to see the early access by autumn of 2018.
